Odin Estensen has more than 28 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector. He joined Shell International in 1990 after graduation from NTH (The Norwegian School of Technology – MSc in Petroleum Technology) and a short stint with Schlumberger. He was initially trained and developed as a Shell EP professional by working as a well engineer; a development path that gave him early frontline and back-office responsibility for challenging and high-cost operations.

Thereafter Odin has held several different positions within contract management, operations, HSE and asset management; both non-operated and operated. These roles have further exposed him to all aspects of the oil and gas business at a steadily increasing level of leadership complexity and accountability. During his career progression with Shell he has worked for several different business units in Europe and also supported operations in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, through global functional leadership positions.

Since 2013 Odin has been the Asset Manager for Norske Shells’ operated operation in Norway, with the accountability for sustainable and optimised management of the Ormen Lange, Draugen, Knarr and Gaupe fields, as well as the Nyhamna plant.

Odin also holds an executive MBA from NHH (The Norwegian School of Economics).

Odin is married and has two grown-up sons. He enjoys exercising and outdoor activities like skiing, fishing and hiking.
