World Economic Forum (WEF) states that digitalization in the Oil and Gas sector could be worth between $1.6 to $2.5 trillion for the industry, its customers and wider society over the next decade.

Morten Dalsmo
Executive Vice President in SINTEF and Head of SINTEF Digital

Dr. Morten Dalsmo is Executive Vice President in SINTEF and Head of SINTEF Digital, an applied research institute focusing on digital technologies and research-based digitalization. He is also leader of the “Digital21” steering group, appointed by the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries in 2017 to strenghten Norwegian businesses’ ability and possibility to succeed with digitalization.

Dr. Dalsmo has more than 20 years of experience from oil & gas industry in various leading positions in IBM and ABB before joining SINTEF in 2016. He has a MSc and PhD in Engineering Cybernetics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway. He is member of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and IEEE and has served as a Programme Committee member for the SPE Intelligent Energy Conference in Utrecht. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Center for Integrated Operations in the Petroleum Industry at NTNU.

Hege Skryseth
Kongsberg Digital

Hege Skryseth is President of Kongsberg Digital, a subsidiary of KONGSBERG, specialized in digitized industry solutions. Skryseth also holds the positions of Chief Digital Officer of KONGSBERG, one of Norway’s leading technology corporations delivering high technology systems and solutions to clients within the oil and gas industry, merchant marine, defense and aerospace. Skryseth is part of the Group’s corporate management team. She also holds experience from several leading international technology companies and has an extensive board experience.

John Markus Lervik

Dr. John Markus Lervik is the founder and CEO of Cognite AS, a Norwegian technology company providing software to industrial companies globally. Lervik has previously been the CEO and part of the founding teams for the software companies Fast Search & Transfer ASA (acquired by Microsoft) and Cxense ASA (listed at Oslo Børs). He holds a PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where he was awarded the Esso prize for best overall PhD. In 2005, Lervik was one of the technology innovators named as part of the prestigious Forbes E-Gang.

Torbjørn F. Folgerø
SVP & Chief digital officer, Statoil

Experience: Torbjørn leads the establishment of a digital centre of excellence and the execution of a company-wide digital roadmap. Torbjørn has worked for Statoil since 2008. His previous positions include Vice president for operational analytics, advisor to Statoil’s president & CEO, and various leadership positions within procurement and supply chain management.  Before joining Statoil, Torbjørn worked as a management consultant at Deloitte Consulting.

Education: Torbjørn holds an MSc in Industrial economics and technology management from the Norwegian university of science and technology (NTNU) as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from ESADE Business School in Spain and Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in the US.


Walter Qvam
Director, Senior Advisor

Walter Qvam (64) has a long executive leadership experience in Norwegian and international corporations within industries like Oil and Gas, Maritime, IT, Aerospace and Defence.

He currently serve as the Chairperson the Boards of Petroleum Geo-Services ASA, SINTEF and of the Council of the Foundation Det Norske Veritas. He is also the Chairperson and founder of DigitalNorway (Toppindustrisenteret AS), which is a business-driven initiative for digitalizing Norwegian businesses. During 2017 he has lead a Commission (KonKraft) for improved competitiveness for the Oil and Gas industry on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

For 8.5 years until June 2016 he held the position as the CEO and President of Kongsberg Gruppen ASA. Previous career includes executive positions in Capgemini, Gemini Consulting, DNV GL, NSB and Bene Agere. Walter holds a Masters Degree in Engineering from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
